Using Improv to Boost Your Networking and Fundraising Game

July 10, 2025

3-5 pm

In Person at Austin PBS

Fundraising is storytelling and improv is a tool that not only helps you enhance your narrative, but helps you adapt it to fit any situation while holding true to the core messaging. In this fun and interactive 90-minute workshop, you will learn how to learn the skill of improvisational ideation that will help launch stronger campaigns and the course correction that will help it continually evolve.

Through guided exercises, you'll practice thinking on your feet, building authentic connections, and communicating your mission with confidence and creativity. Whether you're attending a networking event or making a fundraising pitch, improv skills can help! Training will be 90 minutes long with 30 minutes of networking afterwards.

Has your organization been impacted by recent government actions or are you struggling with fundraising and needing to cut programs or staff? We are collecting stories to help raise awareness around the issues facing local nonprofits right now. You can see examples we have already shared here and here. I Live Here I Give Here is proud to partner with ATX Good News to share our Nonprofit Member’s stories. Local Austin news legends Judy Maggio and Leslie Rhode launched ATX Good News in 2022, with the goal of sharing uplifting, inspirational stories in Central Texas. It focuses on people, nonprofits and businesses doing their part to make our community healthier and happier and more motivated to spread good will.

This month, ATX Good News would like to share the stories of nonprofits that are bridging the gap for kids who face food insecurity during the summer months since they are missing out on school provided meals.
